What it means

The transmission control module (TCM) has detected incorrect electrical values in the pressure control solenoid A circuit, such as an open, a short or a current that does not match the command. The transmission usually enters limp mode with fixed high pressure, so shifts become harsh or it stays in a limited gear.

Weak acceleration from a standstill.

How to diagnose5

First confirm battery health and charging voltage, as low voltage can set solenoid codes.
Visually inspect the connector and external harness.
Measure solenoid coil resistance at the connector and compare it with the manufacturer specification.
Check the circuit between the computer and the connector for opens or shorts with a multimeter.
If the reading at the connector is wrong, inspect the internal harness and solenoid after removing the pan.

Fix any battery or charging problem.
Clean the connector and replace its seal if fluid is leaking into it.
Repair broken or chafed wires.
Replace the pressure control solenoid or the internal harness based on test results.
Reprogram or replace the computer after wiring and solenoid are ruled out.
Clear the codes, then road test and confirm the transmission leaves limp mode.
