1-2 Shift Malfunction
What it means
The transmission control module (TCM) has found that the shift from first to second gear did not happen correctly; it was late, slipped or did not occur in the expected time. This shift happens on every take-off, so drivers notice the problem quickly in city driving.

- Repair or replace the valve body if the shift valve is sticking.

- Clear the codes, then test several take-offs and shifts and confirm the code does not return.
