What it means

This code appears on Electrolux (and AEG) dishwashers, shown on the display as i10, and means water did not enter the unit, or entered too slowly, within the set time. The program stops until the cause is fixed, most often at the tap or inlet hose. Models without a display may show the code as a flashing light, and the user manual explains the pattern. The same number can mean something else on other brands.

Symptoms4

The display shows i10 and the program stops at the start.
No sound of water entering.
The bottom of the tub is dry when the door is opened.
On models without a display, a light flashes in a repeating pattern.

Possible causes5

The supply tap is closed or only partly open.
The inlet hose is kinked behind the unit or under the sink.
The inlet filter at the hose end is blocked with sand or scale.
Very low water pressure.
The leak protection valve in the inlet hose has tripped, or the water inlet valve has failed.

How to diagnose5

Unplug the unit, open the tap fully and make sure water reaches the kitchen.
Check the inlet hose is not kinked, especially after pushing the unit into the cabinet.
Close the tap, disconnect the hose at the tap end and clean the mesh filter in it.
If the hose has a leak protection valve, check its indicator if fitted.
If the fault remains, a technician unplugs the unit before taking it apart and checks the inlet valve and its coils.

Open the tap fully and restart the program.
Reroute the hose, or replace it if damaged.
Clean the inlet filter and refit it firmly.
Have the technician replace the leak protection hose or the inlet valve if confirmed faulty.
Run a short program and confirm water enters and the code does not return.

Why does the display show a lowercase i?

That is how Electrolux dishwashers show their codes: a lowercase i followed by two digits. i10 is the same as I10.

The code appeared right after installation. What is the likely cause?

Usually the tap was not fully opened or the hose kinked when the unit was pushed into place. Pull the unit out a little and reroute the hose.

My dishwasher has no display. How do I know this code?

Some models show it as a light flashing a set number of times, and the user manual explains how to read it.
