What it means

This code appears on Electrolux (and AEG) front-load washing machines when water does not enter the machine, or enters too slowly to reach the required level. E10 stands for the water intake fault family, so the washer may show a sub-code from it such as E11, or show it as blinking lights on models without a display. The same number can mean something else on other brands.

The program stops at the start and E10 or a sub-code such as E11 shows.
On models without a display, the start or end light blinks in a repeating pattern.
The drum is empty or holds little water.

Possible causes5

The water tap is closed or the water pressure is low.
A kinked or squeezed inlet hose.
A mesh inlet filter blocked with sand or scale.
A drain hose placed too low, siphoning water out during filling.
A faulty water inlet valve or water level (pressure) sensor.

How to diagnose5

Unplug the washer and make sure the tap is fully open and pressure is good.
Check the inlet hose along its route and make sure it is not kinked.
Close the tap, disconnect the hose and clean the mesh filter at the washer inlet and at the tap.
Make sure the drain hose end is fixed at the height the installation guide requires, not lying on the floor.
If the fault remains, a technician unplugs the washer before opening it and checks the inlet valve and level sensor.

How to fix5

Open the tap fully or fix low pressure.
Clean the inlet filter and straighten or replace the hose.
Fix the drain hose at the correct height so water is not siphoned out during filling.
Have the technician replace the inlet valve or level sensor if confirmed faulty.
Run a short program and confirm a normal fill without the code returning.
