This code appears on Samsung refrigerators with a digital display and an ice maker when the control board detects a fault in the small heater that keeps water from freezing inside the fill tube to the ice maker or along the ice route. When this heater stops, water freezes in the tube and ice making stops, while cooling continues normally. The same code can mean something else on other brands, and its meaning may differ between some Samsung series.

How to diagnose5

A technician unplugs the fridge before removing any cover, then measures the heater and compares the reading with the manufacturer specification.
