What it means

The hybrid control system has detected that the high-voltage hybrid battery is no longer working efficiently, most often because the voltage of some internal modules differs from the rest by more than the allowed limit. It means the battery has weakened, but the vehicle usually remains drivable with reduced performance.

Determine whether the weakness is in a few modules or spread across the whole pack.
Inspect the battery cooling fan, its filter and air duct.
Watch battery temperature while driving.
Leave inspection of connections and internal modules to a technician trained in high voltage with safety equipment.

Have a specialist clean or replace corroded connections between modules.
Replace weak modules and balance the pack if the weakness is limited.
