What it means

The engine computer has detected that actual fuel pressure is higher than the desired pressure. The most common causes are a regulator that does not release excess pressure or a pressure sensor reading higher than actual. The mixture may run rich, and the computer may limit engine power to protect it.

Check that the pressure sensor reading makes sense after safely releasing system pressure with the engine off.
Inspect the fuel return line for blockage or kinks, on systems that have one.
Check the regulator and sensor wiring, and command the regulator with the scan tool if possible.
Look for dealer technical bulletins or software updates for this code.

Repair damaged wiring or connectors.
Clear the blockage or kink in the fuel return line.
Replace the fuel pressure sensor if its reading is proven wrong.
Replace the pressure regulator or control valve, or the high-pressure pump if the valve is part of it.
Update the ECU software if an update exists for this problem.
Clear the codes, road test and confirm desired and actual pressure match.
