What it means

Shown in amber as a key, sometimes with an exclamation mark or a display message depending on the make, this light means the car cannot sense the smart key inside the cabin. If it appears while driving the engine keeps running, but you may not be able to restart it once switched off. It may glow briefly when the system wakes up and then go out, which is normal.
