What it means

The windshield washer reservoir is low or nearly empty. It is not a serious fault, but clear visibility matters a great deal, especially in dust and sandstorms.

The amber light is on.
Little or no fluid sprays onto the glass.
The washer pump runs without any spray.

Possible causes4

The reservoir has run out of fluid.
A leak from the reservoir or hose.
A faulty fluid level sensor.
Blocked washer nozzles.

How to diagnose and fix5

Fill the reservoir marked with the washer symbol under the hood.
Use dedicated washer fluid or clean water with a glass specific cleaner.
Never pour it into the coolant or brake fluid reservoirs by mistake.
Clear the nozzles with a fine pin if the spray is weak.
If the reservoir empties quickly, look for a leak.
