What it means

Usually shown as two cars, or a car with a star or exclamation mark ahead of it, the symbol varies a lot between makes. A steady amber light means the collision warning and automatic braking system is off or temporarily unavailable, for example because the sensor is dirty; a flashing red alert with a sound means a collision risk, so brake now. It is normal for it to glow briefly at key-on and then go out.

Gently clean the badge or grille in front of the radar and the glass in front of the camera.
Make sure the system is enabled in the settings menu.
If the light stays on in good weather, read the module codes with a scan tool that supports it.
The workshop checks sensor aim and calibration, especially after an accident or windshield replacement.

Clean the radar and camera area and remove any sticker or cover in front of them.
Wait for the weather to clear or temperatures to drop; many cases clear by themselves.
Enable the system in the settings menu if it was off.
Calibrate the radar or camera after a windshield replacement or bumper repair.
