This code appears on Samsung front-load and top-load washing machines when the washer detects heavy suds that interfere with washing or draining; the display shows it as Sud or, on some models, SdS. It is not a fault in itself: the washer pauses or adds drain and rinse steps to break down the suds, then usually continues. The same code can mean something else on other brands.

3. Let the washer finish its suds-reduction steps, and do not open the door with water in the drum.
4. Unplug the washer and clean the drain pump filter with a towel and shallow tray, taking care with hot water after hot programs.
5. If the code repeats with the right detergent and amount, a technician unplugs the washer before opening it and checks the drain path and water level sensor.

1. Use detergent made for automatic washers and reduce the amount.
2. Run an extra rinse and spin without detergent to clear remaining suds.
3. Clean the drain pump filter and check the drain hose.
4. Run the tub clean program if available to remove built-up detergent.
