What it means

This code appears on electronic Indesit washing machines when the main board receives no signal at all from the water level (pressure) sensor, so the machine does not know how much water it holds. The machine stops and should not be used because fill control is no longer reliable; the same number can mean something else on other brands. Codes differ between some Indesit series, so check your manual to confirm.

Models covered: Indesit washing machines on the electronic EVO platform; the code shows on the display or as blinking lights. Older mechanical models do not show codes.

If the sensor and wiring are fine, the main board is checked.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between F10 and F04?

With F04 the sensor works but reads an empty drum; with F10 no signal arrives at all, usually an electrical fault in the sensor or its wiring.

Why close the tap?

Because the machine cannot tell the water level, closing the tap prevents overfilling or leaks until the technician arrives.
