Manifold Absolute Pressure/Barometric Pressure Circuit

What it means

The engine computer has detected an invalid signal from the manifold absolute pressure (MAP) or barometric pressure sensor. The computer uses this reading to calculate engine load, fuel quantity and ignition timing, so a fault affects performance and fuel use.

5. Measure reference voltage, ground and signal at the connector and compare with the manufacturer specification.

1. Clean and reconnect the connector.
2. Repair the open or shorted wire.
3. Fix the reference voltage fault if it affects several sensors.
4. Replace the pressure sensor if the circuit is good and its reading is illogical.
5. Clear the codes, then road test and confirm the code does not return.
