What it means

The airbag control module (SRS) has detected a fault in the deployment (squib) circuit for stage 2 of the passenger frontal airbag, the stage normally used in more severe crashes. The code points to an open, a short or a resistance out of range. The airbag light comes on, and the passenger airbag may not work as designed in a crash.

Do not unplug or test any airbag system connector yourself, since the airbag could deploy suddenly and cause injury.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between this code and B0010?

Both concern the front passenger airbag, but B0010 is for stage 1 and this code is for stage 2. Each stage has its own deployment circuit that is checked separately.

Can I just clear the code and keep driving?

Clearing the code does not repair the circuit, and it will return while the fault exists. More importantly, the passenger airbag may not work as designed, so have a qualified technician repair it.
