What it means

This code appears on some LG refrigerators with a digital display and an ice maker, and means the main board is not getting a proper running signal from the fan that pushes cold air into the ice maker compartment. The cause is usually ice blocking the fan or a failed fan motor. The fridge and freezer normally keep cooling, but ice production drops or stops; the same code can mean something else on other brands.

How to diagnose5

Check that the door holding the ice maker closes fully and its gasket is intact.
Unplug the refrigerator for a few minutes and plug it back in; if the code returns, the fault is real.
Empty the ice bin, remove stuck cubes, and make sure the ice compartment cover is closed properly.
A technician unplugs the refrigerator before opening any cover and checks for ice around the fan and whether it turns freely.
The technician checks the fan connector and wiring, compares the supply and signal with the manufacturer specification, then checks the main board.
