What it means

The lateral acceleration sensor measures the sideways force on the car in turns. Stability control uses it together with the yaw rate and steering angle sensors to tell whether the car is going where the driver is steering. This code sets when messages from this sensor stop reaching the network. On many vehicles the lateral and yaw sensors share one unit.

  3. Inspect the connector and mounting area for moisture, corrosion or a loose mount.
  4. Measure power and ground at the connector with the key on.
  5. Check the CAN lines to the sensor and compare their resistance with the manufacturer specification.

  1. Replace the blown fuse and charge or replace the battery.
  2. Clean the connector and fix any water leak onto the floor.
  3. Repair damaged power or network wiring.
  4. Replace the sensor module if proven faulty and calibrate it with a scan tool.
  5. Clear the codes, test drive through safe turns and confirm the code does not return.
