What it means

The engine computer has seen the barometric pressure (BARO) sensor signal stay below its minimum allowed value for a set time. This usually means an open signal or supply wire or a short to ground, not a real change in air pressure.

Check engine light on.
Loss of power, with the engine possibly running on a substitute value.
Higher fuel consumption.
Slightly harder starting on some vehicles.

Open circuit in the sensor signal wire or reference supply wire.
Signal wire shorted to ground.
Loose connector or corroded terminals.
Failed sensor.
Problem with the computer's reference supply affecting several sensors, or an internal computer fault (less common).

How to diagnose5

Watch the BARO reading on a scan tool; a very low, implausible value confirms a circuit problem.
Check for low-voltage codes on other sensors such as P0107, which point to a shared reference supply fault.
Unplug the connector and measure the reference supply and ground against the manufacturer specification.
Check the signal wire for an open circuit or a short to ground.
If the wiring is good, test the sensor or substitute a known-good one.

Clean the connector and reseat it firmly.
Repair the broken wire or the short to ground.
Fix the cause of a low reference supply if other sensors are affected.
Replace the BARO sensor if it is proven faulty, or the engine computer if the sensor is built into it.
Clear the codes and confirm the reading is plausible and the code does not return.

Why did other sensor codes appear with this one?

Several sensors often share one reference supply from the computer. If a short in one of them pulls that supply down, low-voltage codes appear for all of them.
