What it means

The engine computer has detected an electrical fault, such as an open or short, in the circuit it uses to control the EGR valve or its control solenoid. The computer then cannot operate the valve correctly, so it stays closed or in the wrong position.

Command the valve with a scan tool and confirm it responds.
