This code appears on the wired remote of Mitsubishi Electric Mr. Slim ducted, ceiling and cassette units. It means the indoor coil temperature went outside its safe limit: too low in cooling, risking a frozen coil, or too high in heating. The unit stops the compressor to protect itself and retries, and the code is logged if this keeps happening. The same code can mean something else on other brands, and wall-mounted Mitsubishi Electric models show errors as lamp blinks with a different meaning.

How to diagnose5

Turn the unit off and let any ice melt, then clean or wash the air filters.
Make sure supply and return grilles are open and not blocked by furniture or curtains.
The technician inspects the coil, indoor fan and ducts and checks airflow.
The technician measures refrigerant pressures and pipe temperatures and compares them with the manufacturer specification to detect undercharge.
The technician checks the TH2 reading against the real pipe temperature and verifies the electronic expansion valve works.

Clear duct restrictions and set the indoor fan speed per the installation manual.
Repair the indoor fan or replace its motor if it is weak.
