What it means

This code appears on Fujitsu General split and ducted units on the wired remote or indoor display; older models show it as a number of indicator lamp blinks instead of a number. It means the main circuit board in the outdoor unit has detected a fault in its circuits, its stored model data or the communication between its sections, so the compressor stops and the unit does not cool. The same number can mean something different on other brands.

The technician reads the diagnostic LEDs on the outdoor board using the service manual.
The technician confirms any replacement board matches the model and is set up per the service manual.
