What it means

The vehicle dynamics control module runs electronic stability control and traction control, and on many vehicles it is combined with the ABS module. This code means another module is receiving its messages over the network, but the content is invalid. The cause is usually a sensor the system relies on, such as the steering angle sensor, the yaw rate sensor or a wheel speed sensor.

Read the stability or ABS module codes first and fix any sensor codes there.
Watch the steering angle reading on a scan tool; it should be close to zero with the wheels straight.
Check whether an alignment, steering repair or module replacement was done recently.
Measure battery and charging voltage.
Inspect the module connector and network wiring for corrosion or water.

Is it safe to drive with this code?

Brakes and steering work, but stability control may not intervene in a skid, so drive carefully, especially on wet or sandy roads, and repair it soon.
