Camshaft Position Sensor B Circuit Range/Performance (Bank 2)
What it means
The signal from camshaft position sensor B on bank 2, usually on the exhaust camshaft, is present, but the engine computer finds it does not match the crankshaft sensor signal. The cause may be the sensor or electrical noise, or an offset in exhaust cam timing on that bank.

- Compare the sensor B and crank sensor signals on an oscilloscope with the known-good pattern for the engine.
- Compare cam angles between the two banks on the scan tool if the engine supports it.
- Check timing chain condition and marks per the manufacturer procedure if an offset is confirmed.

- Correct the oil level or change it to the recommended grade.
- Repair wiring or ground, and clean or replace the sensor.
- Replace the bank 2 exhaust cam oil control valve if it is proven faulty.
- Replace the timing chain, tensioners and guides if stretch is confirmed.
- Clear the codes, road test and confirm the code does not return.
