What it means

The engine computer has detected that the signal voltage from boost pressure sensor A is below its minimum allowed value. This is usually caused by an open in the reference or signal wire or a short to ground, so the computer reads an implausibly low pressure and limits turbo boost.

How to diagnose5

Watch the boost reading on a scan tool with the engine off; a reading far below barometric pressure confirms the fault.
Measure the reference voltage at the sensor connector with the ignition on and compare it with the specification.
If the reference voltage is low, unplug the sensors sharing it one at a time to find the cause.
Check continuity of the signal wire and its isolation from ground.
Wiggle the wiring while watching to catch an intermittent open.

Reseat, clean or replace the connector.
Repair the reference or signal wire that is open or touching ground.
Replace another sensor proven to be pulling down the reference voltage.
Replace the boost pressure sensor if it is proven faulty.

No. It means the electrical signal is below its limits; a real lack of boost has its own code, P0299.

Could another sensor be the cause?

Yes. If another sensor shares the reference voltage and is shorted, it can pull the voltage down and set this code even though the boost sensor is fine.

Can I drive with this code?

For short distances and gently, expecting reduced power until it is repaired.
