What it means

This code appears on Bosch dishwashers when water is not drained within the set time because of a blockage in the drain hose, the drain connection or the filters. The program stops and water stays in the bottom of the tub. It is often linked to E25, the drain pump blockage code, and the same number can mean something else on other brands.

How to diagnose5

1. Unplug the unit, take out the lower basket, then remove the filters in the bottom and rinse them under water.
2. Scoop out remaining water with a sponge or cup if needed.
3. Check the drain hose along its route behind the unit and under the sink for kinks.
4. Disconnect the hose at the sink drain connection and make sure it is open, especially after a new trap was fitted.
5. If the fault remains, a technician unplugs the unit before taking it apart and checks the pump, the non-return valve and the hoses.

2. Reroute the drain hose, or replace it if damaged.
